Capoeira

The Estonian Capoeira Federation was founded in 2000 by Ramid Niftalijev.

In 2011, the Estonian Capoeira Federation became a member of the World Capoeira Federation.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and game and accompanied by national Brazilian music.

As a martial art, capoeira contains many different punches and kicks. Here there are throwing elements, counterattacking actions, movements, inclinations. Acrobatic elements and power racks add beauty. There are many positions in capoeira, and movements upside down. If in other martial arts the main thing is to stand on your feet, and defeat is counted when falling down, then in capoeira - the closer to the ground, the more protected.

Styles

Capoeira Angola

Capoeira Angola is a slow rhythm game where everyone can strike a very quick and unexpected blow.

Angola demands from the player remarkable strength, plasticity and resourcefulness. In Angola there are many static positions, fading in the handstand or head. Movement in Angola is like a slow motion. Angola is more like a dialogue. Capoeira Angola is entirely made up of tricks.

The founder of the Capoeira Angola style was Mestre Pastinha.

Capoeira Regional

Capoeira Regional - a game of strength and speed. This style was developed by Mestre Bimba at the beginning of the 20th century. It predominantly quick hits, high speed, sweeps and throws. Mestre Bimba added high blows to capoeira, improved the technique of fighting, made capoeira more effective and applicable to both self-defense and attack. He was the first to introduce the graduation of pupils (according to the color of the scarves around his neck) and the ceremony of initiation into capoeiristas and the presentation of belts - “batizada” and “formatur” - the graduation of pupils.

Capoeira Contemporânea

Capoeira contemporanea - modern capoeira, which combines the styles of Angola and Regional, as well as acrobatics. The tendency to mix styles, the creation of a "universal" style, has affected capoeira. Players make low transitions and biases, static hangs in handstand and head, but at the same time, contemporanea is full of acrobatic movements, fast circular strokes and high strokes. Contemporanea is played with both slow and fast rhythms. Accordingly, the game can be both speed as Regional and slow like Angola.
